Hello, Internet. It's me again.
Hmmm, where to start....
I've been known to make friends out of strange situations. In an earlier blog post, I know I've mentioned my ex and how I am now friends with his ex. Well, another ex of his has become a new friend! I know, I know, it seems weird, but ya know, we three are a great group of girls and I'm glad we're friends. So, I guess, in a way, I should thank him. If it hadn't been for him, I don't think any of us would have met.
Three awesome ladies with one main thing in common.
Now, on to more interesting things, shall we?
Guess what I did!!! I drove to Indiana! The whole way! So proud of myself...*pats self on back* Let me back up, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Last time I wrote I think I mentioned that I was talking with an ex. After realizing how stupid I was to let him go, yadda, yadda, yadda, we had a long talk and we're giving it another go. He's been here since January 19th. I drove out of state (yes, ME!) and picked him up and brought him home with me. It was an interesting drive, that's for sure and the first time I've ever driven out of state--so YAY for going wayyyy out of my comfort zone. Proud of myself. :) Things may not be perfect, but they are going well.
I finally broke down and bought another bed. It's SOOOO comfortable and my back is starting to feel better. It's not just the bed, tho. I also finally went to the ER about my back issues. The doc put me on an anti-inflammatory drug and a muscle relaxer. He also gave me strict instructions to find a primary care physician so that we can manage my "condition". Not sure what my "condition" is, other than a bad back and muscles that spasm in the middle of the night. Either way, it's going to be an ongoing thing. He says I may need some physical therapy, as well. *sigh* Not sure how much of that my insurance will cover, but eh....as soon as my back feels up to it, I do plan on starting my workouts again, which will also help my back feel better. Thank God I don't have a job that requires physical labor or I'd be screwed.
Tax time came and went the way it does every year. I spent my refund wisely. Instead of going shopping and wasting it on things I don't need; I paid my bills. Thanks to EIC, I paid my cable/internet and (thanks to level billing) my electric up for an entire year. I dropped my contract phone through AT&T and switched to a prepaid unlimited plan. Went from paying about $100 a month to $45 a month through Straight Talk. Smart and creative budgeting for the win!! :) I like my paychecks better now. I pay my rent, car insurance, cell phones, and World of Warcraft (a new hobby for my son and I lol) with one paycheck (as long as my hours are decent, which lately, that's been going well, too). I'm going to take my kids shopping for some new clothes soon; why must they keep growing!!? Sheesh. The time flies, I tell ya!
This year, I have more vacation days than I know what to do with and I recently got a raise (I can't wait to see how much of that "raise" is going to go to taxes instead of my pocket. Hmph.) All in all, things could be worse, but I always strive to make things better. Slowly, one step at a time. One goal at a time.
Life is good. It's not perfect, but it's close enough for me.
That's all that matters, right?
Well it's getting late and I think it's cuddle time with my babay xoxox
Till, next time, folks.
